You love emotion, dreamy light and the stunning backdrops of our beautiful landscape. Ordinary is simply not good enough; you don’t want the traditional, you value the importance recording your unique story, documenting elusive moments between moments. Great, so do I!

My photography style is not simply about capturing a likeness but a feeling deep inside that moves your soul. Natural images captured through play and movement, rather than uncomfortable traditional posing and false smiles.

I find inspiration in nature. Beautiful fields of gold, etherial beams of light and the botanical texture of nature. I find significance in the insignificant moments between moments. Capturing natural smiles and the authentic, gentle connection shared between you and the people you love most deeply.

Childhood is fleeting and these are the days we will look back on most fondly. You deserve to own memories that you can look at every day for years to come; remembering these fleeting moments and feelings of love all over again.

I’d love to capture your unique story. The emotions. The fun. The laughter. The love. The authentic you.

heartfelt family photography

Sarah’s a great photographer. She was so good with our kids and we’re so delighted with our photographs. From beginning to end the process was simple. Sarah made the whole experience very enjoyable! I would recommend her to anyone looking to have professional but friendly photographs taken.

I work mainly in the South Wales area but have also shot throughout the UK, Europe and the US. Sessions typically take place within 25 miles of my Cowbridge studio (CF71) although I am happy to travel further afield (subject to a small charge to cover basic travel and/or accommodation charges).

Wild & Wonder sessions take place outdoors and we’re so lucky to have an abundance of beautiful locations to choose from. The perfect time for these sessions is around 60-90 minutes after sunrise or before sunset during “golden hour” when the light is the most magical. Throughout the years I have established some very favourite locations and I am more than happy to suggest a great backdrop for your shoot. You may however have a favourite pace you and your family like to visit and that’s fine too.

Ah, the great unpredictable British weather! It can be a big pain but I’m used to working around it.

I am obsessive about the weather (what Brit isn’t?) and the key is flexibility. When scheduling any on location session I always agree a ‘rain date’ just in case. Rain and excessive cold are the main reasons I’d look at rescheduling a session. I want the experience to be a good one and if all you think about when you look at your photos is how cold and wet you were then that’s not good!

It is however a common misconception that it needs to be sunny to have a successful session. This is not the case and often can be quite the opposite. An overcast day can result in beautiful saturated colours and is often easier if your child is very mobile and struggles to keep still (that’s about 90% of kids!). Shooting in bright sunlight in the middle of the day also can result in plenty of squinting and harsh shadows. The moral of the story? Don’t be put off by a bit of cloud!

Typically I limit it to one family per session. This means I can really focus on you. If you have pets and would like them to be involved too then that’s no problem at all.

I do have requests once in a while for extended families (often for a grandparents birthday). This is no problem at all but it can take a bit longer to complete.

This is probably the most common question I am asked!

Please don’t worry! Once you have booked your session, I will send you some my What to Wear Guide along with lots of other helpful hints & advice to ensure your session runs smoothly. The most important thing is that you love your outfits and that you are as comfortable as possible during our session.

The first thing I will do is become best friends with your kids. It is SO important that I build a connection with them.

I like to ease my customers into their session so you all feel comfortable and any awkwardness disappears. There is a lot of playing and exploring throughout but don’t worry I’ll give you some gentle direction and guidance to enable me to get the best images possible. I don’t really pose all that much, mostly I’m just creating a space with beautiful light for you to be yourselves, allowing opportunities for fun, snuggles and connections to happen naturally.

Sessions typically last between 1-2 hours.

Within 2 weeks (3 at peak times such as Summer) you will receive a private, password protected online gallery showcasing your finished collection. You can then choose your the images you love to purchase and keep forever. I have a range of popular digital packages available but if digital isn’t your thing, I also offer beautiful wall display products. I love to be able to offer you the prettiest ways to display your photos from professional prints to gallery quality frames and wall display options..

Just drop me a message via my contact page or give me a call on 07852 255766 for a chat and I’ll send you over a copy of my brochure which has all of the information you’ll need.

If you are excited to book, we’ll agree on a date. I’ll then send you over an invoice for your session fee. Once your session payment is received, your date will be reserved and I’ll send you over my pre-session questionnaire. The questionnaire is designed to give me much more information about you and your family. I want to know what makes your family unique, so this is a time when we get a bit deep. The more that you open up to me and tell me your story, the more powerful your session will be.

I’ll also send you my What to Wear Guide and lots of hints & tips to help you plan and get excited for your session.
