You love emotion, dreamy light and the stunning backdrops of our beautiful landscape. Ordinary is simply not good enough; you don’t want the traditional, you value the importance recording your unique story, documenting elusive moments between moments. Great, so do I!

My photography style is not simply about capturing a likeness but a feeling deep inside that moves your soul. Natural images captured through play and movement, rather than uncomfortable traditional posing and false smiles.

I find inspiration in nature. Beautiful fields of gold, etherial beams of light and the botanical texture of nature. I find significance in the insignificant moments between moments. Capturing natural smiles and the authentic, gentle connection shared between you and the people you love most deeply.

Childhood is fleeting and these are the days we will look back on most fondly. You deserve to own memories that you can look at every day for years to come; remembering these fleeting moments and feelings of love all over again.

I’d love to capture your unique story. The emotions. The fun. The laughter. The love. The authentic you.

Sarah’s a great photographer. She was so good with our kids and we’re so delighted with our photographs. From beginning to end the process was simple. Sarah made the whole experience very enjoyable! I would recommend her to anyone looking to have professional but friendly photographs taken.

YOUR
QUESTIONS

WHERE DO THE SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?

I work mainly in the South Wales area but have also shot throughout the UK, Europe and the US. Sessions typically take place within 25 miles of my Cowbridge studio (CF71) although I am happy to travel further afield (subject to a small charge to cover basic travel and/or accommodation charges).

Wild & Wonder sessions take place outdoors and we’re so lucky to have an abundance of beautiful locations to choose from. The perfect time for these sessions is around 60-90 minutes after sunrise or before sunset during “golden hour” when the light is the most magical. Throughout the years I have established some very favourite locations and I am more than happy to suggest a great backdrop for your shoot. You may however have a favourite pace you and your family like to visit and that’s fine too.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION?

The first thing I will do is become best friends with your kids. It is SO important that I build a connection with them.

I like to ease my customers into their session so you all feel comfortable and any awkwardness disappears. There is a lot of playing and exploring throughout but don’t worry I’ll give you some gentle direction and guidance to enable me to get the best images possible. I don’t really pose all that much, mostly I’m just creating a space with beautiful light for you to be yourselves, allowing opportunities for fun, snuggles and connections to happen naturally.

Sessions typically last between 1-2 hours.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

This is probably the most common question I am asked!

Please don’t worry! Once you have booked your session, I will send you some my What to Wear Guide along with lots of other helpful hints & advice to ensure your session runs smoothly. The most important thing is that you love your outfits and that you are as comfortable as possible during our session.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

Ah, the great unpredictable British weather! It can be a big pain but I’m used to working around it.

I am obsessive about the weather (what Brit isn’t?) and the key is flexibility. When scheduling any on location session I always agree a ‘rain date’ just in case. Rain and excessive cold are the main reasons I’d look at rescheduling a session. I want the experience to be a good one and if all you think about when you look at your photos is how cold and wet you were then that’s not good!

It is however a common misconception that it needs to be sunny to have a successful session. This is not the case and often can be quite the opposite. An overcast day can result in beautiful saturated colours and is often easier if your child is very mobile and struggles to keep still (that’s about 90% of kids!). Shooting in bright sunlight in the middle of the day also can result in plenty of squinting and harsh shadows. The moral of the story? Don’t be put off by a bit of cloud!

WHAT HAPPENS FOLLOWING A SESSION?

Within 2 weeks (3 at peak times such as Summer) you will receive a private, password protected online gallery showcasing your finished collection. You can then choose your the images you love and keep them forever. Your choice of 3 digital images are included in your session fee. If 3 simply isn’t enough then you will be able to purchase my digital upgrade packages or beautiful wall display products though your online gallery..

HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?

There are two different session types available. The Adventure Session (this is the full photo shoot experience) and the Mini Session (a short and sweet 30 minute shoot).

I only book 5 Adventure Sessions and 5 Mini Sessions per month and these can be secured online with a deposit. If you’d rather have a chat before booking then just get in touch via my contact page or give me a call on 07852 255766 for a chat.

To read more about the different types of sessions and session pricing please click here.

Once your session payment is received, your date will be reserved and I’ll send you over my pre-session questionnaire. The questionnaire is designed to give me much more information about you and your family. I want to know what makes your family unique, so this is a time when we get a bit deep. The more that you open up to me and tell me your story, the more powerful your session will be. I’ll also send you my What to Wear Guide and lots of hints & tips to help you plan and get excited for your session.

ARE YOUR PHOTO SHOOTS SOCIALLY DISTANT?

Totally! We will be outside in the wonderful fresh air and social distancing will be adhered to at all times. If you’d like to read more about socially distanced photo shoots then please click here.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO POSTPONE DUE TO THE PANDEMIC?

As the pandemic continues and restrictions change, you may be worried that you might not be able to attend your scheduled appointment. This is totally understandable and I have put in place the Covid-19 guarantee to help.

If you are unable to attend your appointment due to government restrictions (such as local lockdowns etc.) or any of your household develop Coronavirus symptoms, .I will happily transfer your appointment to a more suitable date in the future. If this does not suit your requirements (such as requiring images for a particular date for example) then your session payment will be refunded to you in full. This will also apply should I (or any of my household) show symptoms).
