wild & free
Using the beautiful countryside around us as a backdrop; I use natural light to infuse my images with atmosphere, emotion and playfulness.
Children run wild & free becoming immersed in the setting; collecting flowers, looking for squirrels and hunting for fairies. They soon forget that they are being photographed and instead it becomes part of the adventure resulting in natural expressions and the images my customers love.

WHAT TIME OF YEAR IS BEST FOR A LOCATION SESSION?
The different seasons bring totally different looks and I go through all of these options in my brochure. From the bluebells and apple blossom of the Spring, the golden sunsets of Summer through to the rich tones of Autumn – they are all beautiful.
The only time I tend to take a break from on location sessions is the Winter as it can be a bit cold for little ones. However, if you fancy a session in the snow then totally I’m up for that!
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Ah, the great unpredictable British weather! It can be a big pain but I’m used to working around it.
I am obsessive about the weather (what Brit isn’t?) and the key is flexibility. When scheduling any on location session I always agree a ‘rain date’ just in case. Rain and excessive cold are the main reasons I’d look at rescheduling a session. I want the experience to be a good one and if all you think about when you look at your photos is how cold and wet you were then that’s not good!
It is however a common misconception that it needs to be sunny to have a successful session. This is not the case and often can be quite the opposite. An overcast day can result in beautiful saturated colours and is often easier if your child is very mobile and struggles to keep still (that’s about 90% of kids!). On the other hand shooting in bright sunlight in the middle of the day can result in plenty of squinting and harsh shadows. The moral of the story? Don’t be put off by a bit of cloud!
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILDREN MISBEHAVE?
It happens. Kids are kids. I have honestly seen it all over the years so please don’t panic if your child has a mini meltdown or is uncooperative. It’s perfectly fine. I’m a Mum myself so I know. Trust me, it’s what you are paying me to do.
There is no strict time limit to an on location session. Some are done and dusted in an hour and some take two. I’m happy to invest the time to make sure you get images you love.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN TAKE PART?
Typically I limit it to one family per session. This means I can really focus on you.
If you have pets and would like them to be involved too then that’s no problem at all.
I do have requests once in a while for extended families (often for a grandparents birthday). This is no problem at all but it can take a bit longer to complete.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Probably the most common question I am asked!
Don’t worry – I’ll give you plenty of guidance before the session if you need it.
