This website complies with the DPA (Data Protection Act 1998) and already complies with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) which comes into effect from May 2018. We will update this policy accordingly after the completion of the UK’s exit from the European Union.
What information is collected
When you subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a form or make a purchase via our online store we will collect some basic information from you such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address and/or phone number. This information is stored on secure online servers. All payments processed via this website are processed by PayPal and Sarah J. Evans Photography does not retain any credit card or payment details.
How your information is used
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
- To respond to your enquiries
- To process and fulfil your online purchases
- For statistical purposes to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you

All the personal data we process is processed securely by staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance, this information is located on servers within the European Union. No 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.

Any downloadable documents, files or media made available on this website are provided to users at their own risk. While all precautions have been undertaken to ensure only genuine downloads are available users are advised to verify their authenticity using third party anti-virus software or similar applications.

Email mailing list & marketing messages
We operate an email mailing list program, used to inform subscribers about products, services and/or news we supply/publish. Users can subscribe through an online automated process where they have given their explicit permission. Subscriber personal details are collected, processed, managed and stored in accordance with the regulations named in ‘The policy’ above.
Email marketing messages may contain tracking beacons/tracked clickable links or similar server technologies in order to track subscriber activity within email marketing messages. Where used, such marketing messages may record a range of subscriber data relating to engagement, geographic, demographics and already stored subscriber data.
External website links & third parties
Although we only look to include quality, safe and relevant external links, users are advised to adopt a policy of caution before clicking any external web links mentioned throughout this website. We cannot guarantee or verify the contents of any externally linked website despite our best efforts. Users should therefore note they click on external links at their own risk and we cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any external links mentioned.
When visiting www.sarahjevans.com we use a third party service Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. This analytical tool collects standard internet log information and details of user behaviour patters. We do this to find out things such as the number of users to various parts of the site. The information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make any attempt to find out the identities of users of the website.
Comments function in the website blog
Sarah J. Evans Photography offers users the possibility to leave individual comments relating to blogposts. If a user leaves a comment on the blog published on this website, the comments made by the user are also stored and published, as well as information on the date of the commentary. In addition, the IP address assigned by the Internet service provider (ISP) to the data subject is also logged. This storage of the IP address takes place for security reasons, in the event that the data subject violates the rights of third parties, or posts illegal content through a given comment. This collected personal data will not be passed to third parties, unless such a transfer is required by law or serves the aim of the defence of the data controller.
Processing & storage of data
If you join our mailing list or send us a contact form via the website your personal information and any other data you give will be stored, securely, for a minimum of 24 months. After that time you will be asked if you wish to remain in our database. If you do not you will be removed. We will email you and if you do not respond within 5 working days you will be removed from our database. Your data will be deleted and/or destroyed.
This above 24 month rule comes into force 25th May 2018.
All photographs displayed on this website are the copyright and intellectual property of Sarah J. Evans Photography. Express permission will be sought from our customers before publishing images of themselves and/or their family members on this website. If our customers decide to revoke this permission, they may do so at anytime by contacting Sarah J. Evans Photography in writing, at which time the images will be removed from this website.
Sarah J. Evans Photography will never sell images to a third party including use in external publications/websites without written consent from the customer/subject.
We give you many choices regarding our use and disclosure of your Personal Information for marketing purposes. If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted by contacting us directly.
