Warrior Princess – On Location Child Photography Training UK

I swear that the weather gods like me. Someone up above is smiling at me and I’m very thankful. The week before my last workshop was glorious and I was hopeful for some sun on the big day. I avidly followed the weather forecasts then … BOOM. Grey. It was the flattest light possible and overcast. Whereas this can be great light for a session (full sun is not always a good thing!) I was hankering to teach some techniques of back lighting. As the day progressed the cloud lifted and we were blessed with the most beautiful afternoon golden light. I gave a big sigh of relief (and a small squeal of delight). I had a beautiful model planned and a wonderful outfit which I’d spent AGES making. It all fell into place. I hadn’t planned a warrior princess look – it just evolved and suited this strong and stunningly beautiful little girl.

Backlight can be very versatile if you manage it well. Just by changing your shooting position you can achieve very different results. On Location Child Photography Training UK

Lots of happy smiling faces resulted in this part of the day. Yes we were mainly lying in sheep poo but it didn’t matter. You’ve got to do these things to get the results sometimes! Thank you so much to the beautiful Ophelia for being a total trooper. As the sun went down it got quite chilly but she was totally wonderful and patient with us all. You are a star Fifi! Here are a few behind the scenes shots taken by me and some of the workshop attendees …
